Job Description
Summary Grand Ledge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Freshman Girls Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position involves fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes, developing their skills on and off the court, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and a commitment to the growth and development of young athletes. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily practice sessions that enhance player skills and teamwork. Develop game strategies and prepare the team for competition. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and player development. Monitor player attendance, academic performance, and overall well-being. Collaborate with other coaching staff and school personnel to ensure a cohesive athletic program. Organize and manage team events, including games, tournaments, and community outreach activities. Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to promote individual and team improvement. Ensure adherence to all school and athletic department policies and regulations. Requirements Previous coaching experience or playing experience in basketball, preferably at the high school or collegiate level. Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes. Strong organizational and planning skills. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). A commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes. Availability for evening and weekend practices and games during the season.
