Job Description

Company Overview Hillsdale Community Schools is a dedicated public school district serving students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and motivated Head Coach for Boys and Girls Cross Country at Davis Middle School. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire student-athletes, promote teamwork, and develop their athletic skills in a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, leadership, and a passion for sports coaching to our middle school community. Duties Lead practices and organize training sessions to improve cross country skills and endurance Develop strategic race plans and motivate students to achieve their personal bests Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and encourage healthy competition Ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and meets Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and officials about team activities and schedules Oversee behavior management to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment Skills Proven experience in sports coaching, preferably with middle school students Background in physical education or teaching physical activity programs Knowledge of cross country training techniques and race strategies Experience working with children and managing behavior effectively Familiarity with other sports such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, judo, karate, swimming, or martial arts is a plus Ability to motivate students of diverse skill levels and backgrounds Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff, parents, and students effectively Join us as we build a vibrant cross country program that encourages growth, resilience, and enjoyment of sport!
Pay:
$2,500.00 - $3,800.00 per year
