Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Valid teaching certificate and experience in teaching is preferred
Experience:
Prior experience coaching
Skills:
Certification and experience in first-aid and CPR is preferred
Qualification Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in strength training and conditioning. 2. Oversees the safety conditions of the weightroom at all times that students are present. 3. Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students. 4. Design an overall strength and conditioning program that meets the needs of student athletes in collaboration with the Athletic Director and Head Coaches. 5. Work collaboratively with all head coaches to provide sport-specific training that meets the needs of all participants. 6. Consult with the Athletic Trainer to design and implement exercises as needed for the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries. 7. Maintain and publish an accurate facility schedule in a manner which is appropriate and equitable for all users and approved by the Athletic Director. 8. Obtain and communicate student strength and conditioning baseline data with students and coaches. 9. Keep an accurate record of student attendance during all sessions. 10. Be cognizant of health needs that may impact specific participants in the strength and conditioning program. Page 1 of 3

6/12/26 Strength & Conditioning Coach 11. Support coaches and athletes in developing strength and conditioning goals along with monitoring progress on a regular basis. 12. Gather and analyze data at consistent intervals to adjust programming as needed. 13. Utilize appropriate and effective techniques to motivate student athletes when utilizing the facility. 14. Develop policies and procedures for weight room behaviors and expectations and provide proper use training to all users of the facility. 15. Maintain a safe, orderly facility and report any needs for maintenance, repair, or replacement of equipment. 16. Attend preseason sports meetings and provide an overview of the strength program. 17. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. 18. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents, community members, or employees of the district.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS and

Exhibit qualities of leadership and organizational ability and reflect a spirit of cooperation in working with staff and school administration. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in respective field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written forms. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continuously work inside or outside depending on the sporting event. Occasionally, the employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with public and other workers.
