WINTER '2026
Per Master Agreement Schedule "C"
Guidelines SUMMARY:
To successfully guide and build the foundation for a solid sideline cheer program at Parchment Middle School. The coach will place emphasis on individual player development and growth, along with team cohesiveness over the length of the cheer season. The coach will demonstrate commitment to student-athletes, the school, and community while promoting school spirit and positive character among athletes.
QUALIFICATIONS
3-5 years' experience as a coach or as cheerleader Sound knowledge of stunt, jump, tumble, and motion techniques Must be able to provide references from previous team members, coaches, or staff Must be able to hold practices a minimum of 3 days a week
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate CPR certified or willingness to obtain Willingness to pursue coaching seminars/classes to broaden knowledge of the sport
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruct athletes regarding techniques, rules, and safety practices of sideline cheer Plan, schedule and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance with rules of the school, the School Board, and the Michigan High School Athletic Association Prompt and manage any social media outlets Assist the Athletic Director in the distribution and collection of appropriate information i.e., Parent Consent Forms, Physical Examination Forms, Birth certificates, Grade Report Forms at the end of each grading period, Accident Forms and any other information concerning the sport Organize payments, orders, and paperwork throughout the season Assume responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment pertaining to the sport Assume responsibility for supervision, safety and welfare of students participating in the cheer program before, during and after scheduled practices and competitive contests Establish and maintain good rapport with athletes, staff, parents, community groups Assume responsibility for submitting request for transportation forms to the Athletic Director Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as needed Perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration This position reports to the Athletic Director and Varsity Cheer Coaches

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. Employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
