BOYS BASKETBALL FRESHMAN HEAD COACH

ASAP Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the high school boys basketball program as the Freshman Boys Basketball Head Coach at Portage Northern High School.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the Portage Northern Boys Basketball team competing in the SMAC Conference. \ Assist PPS facilities department with the upkeep of the Igloo. Help maintain program inventory and work with Athletic Director and Head Coach on all facets of Freshman Basketball program. Work closely with the head Boys Basketball coach as well as other coaches in the program. The above duties and responsibilities are intended to be representative of the nature of the work by this position. The listing is not all-inclusive. Qualifications Must have a strong understanding of basketball fundamentals. Must be able to plan and implement workouts aligned with team philosophy. Strong background in basketball knowledge. Must be able to collaborate with other coaches. Must be knowledgeable of basketball rules and regulations. Prior coaching or competitive experience Strong communication skills Must be able to manage and motivate high school athletes. Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and mentorship to players. experience with, or interest in learning, constraints-led coaching methodologies and current skill acquisition research to support effective development is highly valued. Ability to understand and follow policies (PNHS, PPS, MHSAA) Must undergo a background check and fingerprinting The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
