Description, Qualifications, and Responsibilities The coach will work under the supervision of the Head Varsity Coach as well as the Athletic Director at Lutheran Northwest.

Job Description:

Lutheran High School Northwest is seeking a junior volleyball coach committed to student athlete growth and excellence and most of all Christian discipleship. The coach will continue to develop players who are prepared to succeed in our girls volleyball program. We compete in the Blue Division of the MIAC and push to compete for MIAC and post-season championships, while developing a love and passion for the game of volleyball. Above all, we want our coaches to model a Christian example and create a positive culture for both spiritual and athletic growth.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Coaching or playing experience at the collegiate or high school level
• Knowledgeable about sport specific MHSAA rules and regulations
• CPR/First Aid certified or ability to obtain

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a culture and environment that is in line with our school mission statement and values
• Responsible for carrying out and enforcing all Lutheran High School Association policy, all MHSAA regulations, MDHHS policies, and any duty assigned by the Athletic Director
• Help to plan and assist with event management for our annual elementary volleyball tournament
• Assist in game day preparations and the setup and clean up on game days
• Use a variety of instructional techniques both technically and tactically to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student-athletes
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions
• Ensures that all coaches on staff work together toward a common goal and provide unity within the volleyball program
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis
• Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Report injuries in a timely manner
• Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extra-curricular participation
• Encourage sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic participation at all times
• Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all campus athletic equipment

Availability:

• Mondays through Fridays from August through October
• Some weekend availability
• Able to commute to Rochester Hills, MI 48309

Pay:

$2,800.00 per year
