Immediate Qualifications :
Must be available to perform coaching responsibilities, games and practices outside of your contractual day. (Daily contractual hours will not be modified to accommodate coaching schedule.) Wrestling knowledge and experience. Youth wrestling coach experience preferred. Understanding of Michigan High School Athletic Association rules and regulations. Ability to communicate and work well with middle school students, parents, and the community. Michigan Certified Teacher preferred.
Responsibilities :
Counsel students/athletes about scholarships and the importance of grades. Monitor grades of students/athletes in wrestling program. Maintain academic eligibility log for student athlete participation. Meet with parents of middle school wrestling team prior to start of season. Build strong relationships with parents and the school community to develop a culture for academic accomplishment aligned with athletic achievement. Assist with preparing and submitting a yearly budget and bids to order necessary equipment for cheer program. Responsible for issuing and collecting uniforms and equipment to/from athletes and maintaining accurate uniform and equipment records. Assist with completing necessary paperwork for inventory, budgeting records, etc. Coordinate a practice schedule for the entire season. Be a positive role model and motivator. Teach and coach techniques and skills needed to ensure a successful wrestling program. Comply with district policies and procedures (i.e., academic eligibility of student athletes, accident reporting, cash handling, ravel and transportation requests, volunteer approval and authorization procedures, etc.) Attend all meetings as required by the MHSAA. Perform other duties within the athletic department as assigned. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds in supplies which requires bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching. The employee may have to push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight. The employee must be able to use and operate a variety of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including the use of a computer keyboard. The employee must use hands and arms to manipulate objects. The employee will have extensive verbal communication with administrators, staff, students, parents, & guests to communicate, to receive, and exchange information. The employee must use keyboards, tools, and other controls. The employee must sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. The employee must have normal vision and hearing with or without aid. The employee must be able to move about the assigned work location during the day.

Often the noise level is the work environment will be soft to moderate. The employee is required to interact with students, staff, parents / guardians and occasionally with the public. At times, the employee may be directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
