SUMMARY The Masters Swim Coach is responsible for leading and developing the Saline Rec Center's Masters swim program (Saline Masters). This position provides structured, purposeful swim practices designed for adult swimmers with varying abilities and competitive goals. The coach will create and lead workouts, provide technical instruction and stroke development, assist swimmers with competition preparation, and foster a positive, inclusive team environment. Plays an integral role in the development and growth of the Saline Rec Masters Program, helping establish training standards, team culture, and competitive opportunities. This position requires a strong background in competitive swimming and coaching. Must be passionate about helping swimmers to improve skills, fitness, confidence, and competitive performance. Must work effectively with swimmers of varying ages, abilities, and experience levels.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous competitive swimming experience. Previous swim coaching experience, specifically coaching adult or Masters swimmers. Competitive swimming or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, high school, or Masters level.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION
Current United States Masters Swimming (USMU) Coaching Certification, or ability to obtain within 90 to 120 days of hire. ARC lifeguard certification preferred.

Develop written workouts that incorporate appropriate training, conditioning, stroke development, drills, and skills. Provide individual and group instruction related to stroke technique, starts, turns, pacing, race strategy, and overall swimming efficiency. Assist swimmers in preparing for meets and other competitive opportunities. Develop seasonal training plans and adjust workouts based on team goals, swimmer needs, and competition schedules. Observe swimmers and provide constructive, individualized feedback to support continued development. Communicate regularly with team members regarding practices, schedule changes, competitions, program updates, and other relevant information. Help establish and maintain a positive, welcoming, and team-oriented culture for adult swimmers of all abilities. Encourage participation, goal setting, and continued development within the program. Maintain a safe, professional, and inclusive practice environment. Follow all Saline Rec Center, Parks & Recreation, and aquatic facility policies and procedures. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

The coach will play an integral role in the development and growth of the Saline Rec Center Masters program, helping establish training standards, team culture, and competitive opportunities. Work Schedule This is a part-time, hourly position. The schedule will primarily consist of scheduled Masters swim practices, with additional hours as needed for program planning, communication, competition preparation, and other coaching responsibilities. The position may include early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours based on the Masters program schedule and competition calendar.
