Job Description

Assistant JV Men's Soccer Coach Summary Spring Arbor University, a Christ-centered institution affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, is seeking a dedicated and passionate JV Men's Soccer Coach to lead its JV soccer program. This coach will be responsible for cultivating an environment of athletic excellence, spiritual development, and academic integrity consistent with the mission of SAU and the athletic department. The JV Coach plays a vital role in the broader soccer program by developing student-athletes, managing team operations, and supporting the varsity coaching staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of the JV soccer team, including practice planning, skill development, game strategy, and travel coordination. Mentor student-athletes spiritually and personally, integrating biblical principles into the athletic experience. Foster a culture of servant leadership, character, and sportsmanship aligned with the values of Spring Arbor University. Ensure all team activities comply with NAIA regulations and the Crossroads League standards. Coordinate scheduling of games and practices in collaboration with the athletic department and opposing institutions. Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms for the JV program. Monitor the academic progress of JV team student-athletes and encourage academic excellence. Represent the university and athletics department in a professional and Christ-honoring manner. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Men's Soccer Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred. Coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or elite club level strongly preferred. A committed follower of Jesus Christ with a desire to mentor and disciple student-athletes. Alignment with Spring Arbor University's Statement of Faith and Community Covenant. Knowledge of coaching strategies, player development techniques, and NAIA compliance standards. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license and the ability to meet university driving standards.
