Job Description

Assistant Varsity Girls Swim Coach Summary:
Swartz Creek High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Varsity Girls Swim Coach to support the girls swimming and diving program. The ideal candidate will assist in developing student-athletes both in and out of the pool while fostering a positive, competitive, and team-oriented environment. This position works closely with the Head Coach to promote athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong understanding of competitive swimming techniques, training methods, rules, and strategies Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes Strong communication and leadership skills Availability for practices, meets, invitationals, and team-related travel Current CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain
MHSAA CAP
1 or 2 certification (preferred) Previous swimming coaching and/or competitive swimming experience (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, meets, and team events Provide instruction and feedback on stroke technique, conditioning, starts, turns, and race strategy Support the development of student-athletes' physical, mental, and personal growth Ensure athlete safety and well-being during all team activities Uphold and enforce school, district, league, and MHSAA rules and policies Promote sportsmanship, discipline, academic accountability, and teamwork Assist with meet preparation, event entries, and team logistics as directed by the Head Coach Maintain professional and respectful communication with athletes, families, officials, and school staff Serve as a positive role model in conduct, language, and professionalism
