Description:
Spartan Running Coach Program Overview Spartan Running gives 6th grade students an opportunity to learn running techniques and pacing, and gives them an opportunity to get an early experience with the sport of Cross Country running. Each day includes training and a distance run. There may also be opportunities to compete in exhibition runs at MS/HS cross country meets. Job Summary Provide coaching and instruction to 6th grade students in a instructional athletic program. Season starts August 24 and ends approximately October 12. Practices run 2 days a week, 3
  • 4:00 pm.
Flexible based on coaches availability. Work collaboratively with youth sports coordinator to implement a coaching philosophy that is supportive of student/athletes' development. Communicate effectively with student/athletes, coaching staff, parents, and building administrators, regarding program needs and developments. Qualifications Understanding of fundamental skills and strategies. Effective practice management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in collaboration with others. Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents. Commitment to supporting the whole student/athlete in athletic competition, academics, and in character development.
