Description:
Assistant Varsity Coach•Girls Basketball
Qualifications:
Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred. Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of wrestling, with a willingness to continue learning new theories, strategies, and procedures related to the sport. Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes through instruction, leadership, and actions.
Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and leading practices. Work with the varsity head coach to support and administer a comprehensive wrestling program. Supervise student-athletes involved in the program. Follow and support rules and procedures as defined by ISD 518.
Job Goal:
To instruct student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for individual and team success. The coach will also model and teach behaviors that promote character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, and pride of accomplishment. The coach is expected to continue developing professional knowledge and skills through clinics, observations, consultation, and other learning opportunities.
REPORTS TO
The Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach reports to the Head Girls Basketball Coach and Activities Director.
