Job Description
Location :
Kirkwood, MO Pay :
$30-$60/hour depending on experience, fit, responsibility, and ability to confidently lead small groups and retain clients Job type: Part-time with potential to grow About us: Embody Performance & Recovery is a chiropractic, rehab, and strength-focused clinic/studio in Kirkwood. We believe strength training is one of the most powerful things people can do for long-term health, confidence, independence, and resilience. Our small-group training is not a typical large group fitness class. We focus on strength training, progressive overload, quality movement, functional exercise, mobility, core training, and individualized modifications when needed. We are looking for the right coach to join our team.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who genuinely loves coaching people. Someone with energy, warmth, personality, and character. Someone who can build rapport, earn trust, inspire people, and help clients feel comfortable, capable, and excited to keep coming back. We are not looking for someone who only cares about weight loss, aesthetics, or crushing people with hard workouts. Our goal is to empower people through strength, movement, confidence, and better health. Technical skill matters, but we are willing to mentor the right person. If you have the right personality, care deeply about people, and want to grow as a coach, we can help train you in programming, cueing, movement quality, progressions/regressions, and rehab-informed training.
Responsibilities:
Coach small-group personal training sessions (6-8 people/class) Create a positive, welcoming, encouraging training environment Help clients feel seen, supported, and appropriately challenged Cue and modify exercises based on client needs Build relationships with members and patients Communicate clearly with the Embody team Potentially work with one-on-one personal training clients as the role grows Ideal qualities: Warm, personable, and energetic Strong communication skills Genuine care for people Passion for strength training and movement Coachable and eager to learn Reliable and professional Comfortable working with adults who may have previous injuries, limitations, or hesitations around exercise Interested in health, wellness, strength, confidence, and long-term function Preferred but not required: Personal training certification Exercise science, kinesiology, or related education Experience coaching small groups or one-on-one clients Interest in rehab-informed strength training
Schedule:
We currently have roughly 12 hours available, but this does not need to be all or nothing. We are open to one trainer taking more hours, two trainers splitting the schedule, or the right person starting with fewer classes and growing over time.
Mondays and Wednesdays:
6am-7am, 4:30pm-5:30pm, 5:45pm-6:45pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays:
7am-8am, 8:30am-9:30am
Compensation:
Pay starts at $30/hour. Some of our small groups already have up to 8 members, so the right trainer may have immediate opportunity to earn $50-$60/hour if they can confidently lead fuller small groups, build relationships, retain clients, and represent Embody well. There is also potential for one-on-one personal training referrals from the clinic.
Growth opportunity:
The right trainer may have the opportunity to grow into more classes, one-on-one personal training clients, and a larger role inside the business.
How to apply:
Please attach a resume and cover letter with a brief note about why this role interests you. Applicants who submit a cover letter will have first priority. Before scheduling an interview, we will ask serious applicants to send a short 2-3 minute video answering: "Why do you want to coach people, what do you believe makes a great training experience, and why does this role interest you?"
Pay:
$30.00 - $60.00 per hour
Benefits:
Free fitness classes Gym membership Opportunities for advancement
