To Be Determined Job Description The Pleasant Hope R-6 School District has a position open for a High School Assistant Cross Country Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Assistant Coach Goal /
Purpose:
Assistant coach will work under a head coach to make sure players, equipment and facilities are well-prepared and organized. Candidates are also responsible for supporting the Head Coach with all assigned duties and coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Descriptions:
To comply with school and school board policies and regulations. As well as policies set forth by MSHSAA To assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment and facilities. Assist head coach in developing and maintaining a year round strength and conditioning program. Assists in the overall development of all levels of the sport in the community. Help with the Development and organization of practice programs. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the principal, superintendent may assign. To demonstrate professional growth by attending various camps, clinics, etc. To promote positive interaction with student athletes, the school and community. To demonstrate enthusiasm for coaching and learning. To demonstrate an interest in student athletes and the overall athletic program. To encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students. Maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress and to inform appropriate persons.
