Director of Activities and Building PrincipalREQUIRED PERFORMANCE AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures a safe and respectful environment for all those involved in the program while modeling and demonstrating the highest level of professionalism to students, colleagues, parents, members of the community, and other teams. Assumes responsibility for the area(s) of the program designated by the head coach which include: Helps coach the junior varsity program. Gives guidance to the high school junior varsity program. Implements district athletic department policies. Works with theAthletic Director, High School Principal, and Head Coach:
Communicating of high school sport schedule for the Junior Varsity squad. Verification of student physical examination requirements of the high school for the Junior Varsity squad. Preparation of athletic permission slips and eligibility lists for Junior Varsity squad.. Assist in organization of middle school communications of the high school program for incoming freshman. Works with Athletic Director to develop the practice schedules of junior varsity squads. Supervises practice fields and playing fields during and following periods of team participation. Remains with students and supervises them while traveling to away competitions. Cares for athletes and injured athletes. Cares for, maintains and oversees the storage of all equipment and uniforms. Attends all meetings regarding participation of with the Union R-XI School District Attends all state meetings where the program is involved and operates within the policies of the Union R-XI School District. Encourages participation of high school booster club. Keeps informed on current trends and attends and participates in clinics. Maintains active membership in related professional organizations. Prepares list when teams are taken out of school to participate in athletic contests. Maintains a positive staff relationship with other coaches. Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director,High School Principal, and Head Coach.. Communicates with players about personal development during the season as well as the off-season. Holds meetings with Junior Varsity parents to inform them about the program as well as expectations of them and the players. Leads by example regarding promotion of sportsmanship. Promotes the high school program by encouraging participation of players of the upcoming season. Applies and enforces student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, & while on trips off school property per student handbook.SALARY:
Salary schedule to be established by the Board of Education.EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of certified personnel.PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Additionally, the employee may occasionally be required to push or lift up to 50 lbs as necessary for the safety and well-being of others. Lastly, this job requires the employee to have the vision ability to read handwritten or typed materials, and meet multiple demands from several people while interacting with other staff and the public.WORK ENVIRONMENT
