Job Description

Summary Hamilton High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to serve as the Head Wrestling Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wrestling, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the mat. This seasonal position requires a coach who can inspire and motivate young athletes, foster teamwork, and promote a positive and competitive wrestling environment. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that enhances athletes' skills, strength, and conditioning.
  • Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
  • Organize and oversee all aspects of the wrestling program, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and competition logistics.
  • Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among athletes, coaches, and parents.
  • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding program goals, expectations, and updates.
  • Recruit and train assistant coaches as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure a cohesive coaching staff.
  • Analyze performance and provide constructive feedback to athletes to facilitate improvement and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state regulations regarding athletics and sportsmanship.
  • Represent Hamilton High School at conferences, meetings, and events related to the wrestling program. Requirements
  • Previous experience coaching wrestling at the high school level or higher preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, strategies, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
  • Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and competition schedules.
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per school board policy.
