Job Description

Job Summary Hamilton Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletics program as an Assistant Football Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive environment. This is a seasonal position that requires a commitment to the team's success and the personal growth of each player. Responsibilities
  • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, ensuring a focus on skill development and game strategy.
  • Help manage game-day operations, including player warm-ups, substitutions, and overall team organization.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
  • Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance individual and team skills.
  • Collaborate with other coaching staff to develop practice plans and game strategies that align with the team's goals.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and any concerns.
  • Assist in organizing team events, including fundraisers, team meetings, and community outreach initiatives. Requirements
  • Previous coaching experience, preferably at the middle school or high school level, is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with players and staff.
  • Commitment to the safety and well-being of student-athletes.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the football season.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based background check as required by school board policy.
