Part-time, non-exempt, stipend Summary/Objective The assistant dance team coach will support the head dance team coach in recruitment, management and administration of the dance team. The assistant coach will also contribute to the marketing and fan experience team in the promotion of athletic events through campus and community outreach efforts. Essential Functions Responsible for leading day-to-day operation of team Lead for in season rehearsal planning and execution Lead for in season conditioning and strength training planning and execution Lead for main POC for team for questions/concerns/conflicts; keeping head dance team coach in the communication loop and for escalations Assist in Game Day planning and execution Assist in leadership development and mentoring for dance team officer line Assist in technical development of athletes Assist in choreography development for Game Days and appearances Assist head coach in working with the admissions office to identify potential students through various outreach efforts including campus tours and other admissions office recruiting efforts. Contribute to recruiting efforts for the dance team by with follow-up with prospects and working through pipeline development with head dance team coach Assist head coach in the evaluation and selection of the dance team throughout the open class/audition process Serve as a brand ambassador for dance team-based events and appearances including but not limited to Game Days, Admissions events and Campus/Community events Attend athletic and campus team meetings as needed Other duties as assigned. Work Environment Normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time stipend position. Travel Recruiting and Competition will be only travel required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Prior coaching or competitive dance team experience Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
