Job Description

The Head Women's Softball Coach is responsible for all aspects of the softball program including but not limited to: coaching, recruiting, organizing practice and scheduling of games, game day preparation, fund raising and monitoring student athlete academic progressThe Women's Softball Head Coach will work under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics to recruit, coach, promote, and administrate the operation of the Brunswick Community College Women's Softball Program. The expectations of The Head Women's Softball Coach is to lead a successful softball program whose team members compete with honor and integrity while furthering the growth of the student-athlete, the Athletic Department, as well as the following; > Develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, student athletes, media, alumni, and donors while interacting successfully with department personnel and the college community. Conduct a women's softball program in compliance with all NJCAA, Region 10 and Brunswick Community College Athletic Department rules and regulations. Conduct the women's softball program in concert with Brunswick Community College's mission and goals, in which student-athletes graduate and achieve competitive success. Processes strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to understand and enforce safety rules and regulations Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management Knowledge of NJCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Demonstrate successful fundraising skills. Possess a thorough knowledge of the game, a sophisticated understanding of coaching strategies and demonstrate the ability to enhance player development.

Bachelor's degree required; Collegiate coaching, playing experience or 4 years of high school coaching experience required. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to recruit, lead, motivate and develop student-athletes; Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; A commitment to excellence and sensitivity to cultural differences. Proficiency with computer applications, general office software and Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations required.
