Help each player build a foundation for future success both in sport and in life. Create, nurture and protect each player's feelings of self-worth. Create and inspire a passion and respect for the game. Be sensitive to each player's developmental needs. Create a positive and affirming atmosphere which motivates players. Command respect and maintain authority as a coach. Manage and maintain all athletic equipment. Educate the players to the technical, tactical, physical and psychological demands of the game Conduct practices in a spirit of enjoyment and learning. Strive to help each player reach their full potential. Be a positive role model. Set high standards of discipline and sportsmanship. Closely collaborate with the Athletic Director, to ensure that any schedule changes (practices, games, tournaments, etc.) are communicated in a timely fashion. Notify each team of the Coach's preferred communication process. This process should include the mechanism by which the Coach can be reached (i.e. email, phone, in-person) as well as the preferred and non-preferred times (i.e. not immediately prior to or after a match). Be accessible and responsive to the concerns and questions raised by players and parents/guardians. Be present and on time to all team activities and meetings, including meetings which may be scheduled outside of school-sanctioned team activities. Ensure all team members are adequately supervised during team functions. Conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times. Treat players, parents/guardians, school employees, referees, opposing coaches, sporting officials, and the Athletic Director with respect and dignity at all times. Helping prepare venues for home games Helping maintain inventory of athletic uniforms and sports equipment Carry First aid kit to practices and games Clean driving record: coaches may be asked to assist with coordinating transportation or drive a small bus to practices and/or competitions.
