Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Girls Basketball Head Coach to lead and inspire our youth basketball program. This pivotal role involves developing athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship among young players. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for basketball, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to creating a positive, engaging environment for all participants. As the head coach, you will be responsible for planning practices, guiding game strategies, and ensuring the safety and well-being of every athlete. Duties Lead all aspects of the girls' basketball team, including training sessions, game preparation, and strategic planning Develop comprehensive practice plans that incorporate sports-specific training instruction to improve individual and team skills Foster a positive team culture emphasizing teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff to provide updates on team progress and upcoming events Ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and games, including AED operation and first aid/CPR readiness Manage behavior and motivate players to achieve their best both on and off the court Coordinate with other coaches or staff involved in youth sports programs to enhance overall athletic development Experience Prior coaching experience in basketball or other team sports at youth or school levels Demonstrated leadership in sports coaching or physical education settings Experience working with children or adolescents in a coaching or childcare capacity Knowledge of sports team experience such as cheerleading, soccer coaching, climbing, martial arts (karate, judo), or swimming is highly desirable Strong communication skills for effective client (player/parent) interaction and team management Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or sports-specific training instruction are preferred Background in health club or gym environments with experience teaching physical education or fitness classes is advantageous Join us to make a lasting impact on young athletes' lives by fostering their love for basketball while promoting health, teamwork, and personal achievement.
