Job Description

This Job will start in September, with paid training being conducted in August. Jersey Aquatic Center in New Providence, NJ, is looking for a Swim Instructor to join our team. We are located at 629 Central Ave. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and reliable.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Swim Instructor to join our aquatics team. The Swim Instructor will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, ensuring the safety of all participants, and fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in swimming, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to helping others achieve their swimming goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Swim Lessons:
Plan, organize, and teach swim lessons for various age groups, from beginners to advanced swimmers. Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students, providing clear instructions and demonstrations.
Ensure Safety:
Monitor the safety of all swim lesson participants at all times, enforcing pool rules and responding to emergencies when necessary. Maintain a safe and clean pool environment.
Skill Assessment:
Evaluate students' swimming abilities at the beginning and end of each session, providing feedback and progress reports to students and their parents or guardians.
Program Development:
Assist in the development and implementation of swim programs and activities that meet the needs and interests of the community. Provide input on class schedules and curriculum.
Customer Service:
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians, addressing any questions or concerns in a professional manner. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other swim instructors, lifeguards, and aquatics staff to ensure the smooth operation of the aquatics program.
Qualifications:
Required Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard Preferred Certifications:
Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
Experience:
Previous experience as a swim instructor or competitive swimmer is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swim strokes and techniques. Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
Communication:
Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex techniques in an easy-to-understand manner.
Personality:

$16.50 - $21.00 per hour
