RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Coaching Experience:
Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required. Understand the fundamentals of ice hockey Have the ability to motivate athletes to reach their potential. Must have exceptional leadership skills. Must possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport. Administrative Duties and Personal Skills Must have excellent communication skills. Strong administrative skills. Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintains, along with coaches, the proper supervision of student-athletes at practices, meets, and on school-provided transportation. Effective, active listening skills. Promotes good public relations through professional standards of conduct and presentation and professional courtesy. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Have the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Ability to work effectively with others. Organizational and problem-solving skills. Adhere to best practices of diversity and inclusion so that interactions with students, colleagues, and other constituencies highlight awareness, competence, and sensitivity.
Other duties as assigned:
Attends a mandatory preseason parent meeting and training session with the Athletic Dept. Participates in special activities, including senior day, parent night, banquets, awards nights, admission panels, open houses, coaching clinics, and pep assemblies. Complete all coaching accreditation modules and KPS training. Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department. Kent Place School is an equal opportunity employer.
