- Wayne, New Jersey DePaul Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and faith-filled Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach to join our athletic department.
The successful candidate will support the Head Coach in developing student-athletes both on and off the court while promoting the mission, values, and traditions of DePaul Catholic High School. DePaul Catholic's mission is to foster the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social growth of its students through a faith-based, college preparatory education. (DePaul Catholic High School) Position Responsibilities Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of the varsity volleyball program. Help plan and conduct practices, conditioning sessions, and skill development activities. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and character development. Support the recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Assist with game preparation, scouting, and match-day operations. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage academic success. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with Catholic values and the Vincentian mission of DePaul Catholic. Assist with program fundraising, community outreach, and booster club initiatives. Ensure compliance with all school, diocesan, conference, and NJSIAA regulations. Support the development and alignment of the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity volleyball programs. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes. Qualifications Previous volleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred. Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, strategies, and skill development. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, parents, students, and school administration. Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education. NJ Coaching Certification or ability to obtain required certifications. CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Preferred Qualifications High school or collegiate coaching experience. Experience working within a faith-based educational environment. Knowledge of Hudl, video analysis, and volleyball statistics programs. Compensation Stipend commensurate with experience and in accordance with school guidelines.
