Bernalillo High School 148 Spartan Alley Bernalillo, NM 87004 Get Directions Full Time $7,000.00 - $7,000.00 per unit Bernalillo High School Posted 5/18/2026 Head Baseball Coach Job Description Position Title Head Baseball Coach Reports To Athletic Director / Principal / Director of Athletics Position Summary The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the baseball program, including player development, team leadership, practice planning, game strategy, program administration, and fostering a positive team culture. The coach will promote academic success, sportsmanship, discipline, and character development while maintaining compliance with all organizational, league, and governing body regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Program Leadership Develop and implement a comprehensive baseball program philosophy and vision Organize and supervise all team activities, including practices, games, conditioning, and offseason programs Establish team rules, expectations, and standards of conduct Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and leadership among student-athletes Coaching Responsibilities Teach fundamental and advanced baseball skills and techniques Plan and conduct effective practices focused on player development and team performance Develop game strategies, lineups, and in-game decision-making Evaluate athlete performance and provide constructive feedback Monitor player safety and enforce proper training techniques Player Development Support the academic and personal growth of student-athletes Encourage college recruitment opportunities and assist athletes seeking advancement Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team environment Mentor assistant coaches and support staff Administrative Duties Coordinate schedules, transportation, equipment, uniforms, and facility usage Maintain inventory and oversee care of equipment and facilities Manage program budget and fundraising activities when applicable Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school administration, and community stakeholders Ensure compliance with league, conference, state, and organizational policies Community and Program Promotion Promote the baseball program within the school and community Organize camps, clinics, and community outreach events Represent the organization in a professional manner at all times Qualifications Previous baseball coaching experience preferred Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and player development Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required Teaching certification may be required depending on organization Must pass background check and meet all district/organizational requirements Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, throw batting practice, and demonstrate drills for extended periods Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required Work Environment Outdoor athletic facilities in varying weather conditions Occasional travel for games, tournaments, and recruiting events Apply Now
