Job Description
Mercy University is looking for a knowledgeable and committed Assistant Women's Basketball Coach to join our athletics program on a part-time basis. This is a genuine opportunity to shape the development of student-athletes while contributing to a university that places people at the center of everything it does. What You'll Be Doing Support the Head Coach in planning and delivering practices, game-day preparation, and in-season player development Assist with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes, working closely with the Admissions and Recruitment team to identify and engage candidates who align with Mercy's academic and athletic standards Monitor student-athlete academic progress and provide mentorship that supports success both on and off the court Ensure all activities comply with NCAA and Northeast-10 Conference regulations What You Bring Collegiate playing or coaching experience in women's basketball Working knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules and eligibility requirements Demonstrated ability to build trust with student-athletes from diverse backgrounds Strong communication skills across in-person, digital, and recruitment settings Experience supporting academic accountability for student-athletes, consistent with Mercy University's commitment to graduating well-rounded individuals A current, valid driver's license and ability to travel for recruiting and competition Why Mercy Mercy University's mission is to provide access to higher education for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity — and that same spirit of inclusion runs through its athletics program.
