Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head Coach and the Director of Athletics, the assistant coach will discharge the following responsibilities: Conducts recruitment of student-athletes in accordance with NCAA rules through scouting, attending tournaments, and possible home visits. Oversees and coordinates one or more specified areas of a sporting discipline and/or provides technical support and training to student-athletes, as appropriate to the sport. Perform miscellaneous athletic coaching job-related duties, as assigned. May perform administrative duties including maintaining equipment, monitoring budgets, initiating correspondence and in planning and arranging team travel. Attend all required staff meetings. Assist with the academic monitoring of student-athletes. Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining compliance with NCAA, SUNYAC and Fredonia rules and regulations. Participate in committees and provide service to the Department, University, and Profession. Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education Demonstrated record of successful participation, coaching and recruiting in the sport Demonstrated high level of motivation with strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated willingness and ability, to travel and work a flexible schedule Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and work with student employees Demonstrated commitment to diversity and the needs of diverse faculty, staff, students, and the university community Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues for program growth and enhancement Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or ability to immediately obtain Valid state driver's license and clean driving record Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree Prior experience at the Division III level

This is a part-time, ten-month, term-appointed, position. The start date will be negotiated with the final candidate. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
