Coordinator- Hobart Football Hobart William Smith Colleges Location:
Geneva, NY Open Date:
Feb 12, 2026 Description The successful candidate will assist the Hobart football head coach in the organization and management of a competitive NCAA Division III football program. The position responsibilities will include teaching, guiding and coaching student-athletes for successful competition; executing the duties of an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, or special teams coordinator and/or position coach; supporting student-athletes' academic success; recruiting prospective students; scouting opponents; fundraising; developing alumni and parent relations; administrative tasks; and other duties as assigned.
Teaching and Coaching:
responsible for providing instruction and training necessary to create skills, techniques, and physical conditioning sufficient to enable each participant to compete safely and competently collaborate closely with the head coach and other coaching staff to develop strategies that maximize the team's performance operate digital platforms to develop training, practice and game plans maintain an exemplary standard of conduct, which reflects the highest level of professionalism and good judgment be knowledgeable of and compliant with all institutional, department, NCAA and conference policies, rules and regulations
Counseling and Advisement of Student-Athletes:
develop and maintain effective communication with student-athletes reinforce academic success as a priority encourage student-athletes to foster a positive relationship with faculty, deans and staff Perform the requirements as a Campus Security Authority pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. 1092 (f) (Clery Act).
Recruiting:
effectively recruit prospective student-athletes under the direction of the head coach and consistent with the Colleges' mission maintain the sport-specific recruiting electronic database recruit student-athletes who coincide with the academic profile of HWS students maintain open communication with other Hobart coaches regarding shared prospects
Professional Development:
maintain active membership in professional sport organizations pursue formal and informal educational opportunities participate in athletic department programming for coaches Community Engagement/Fundraising promote the sport and Hobart Athletics in area communities maintain a positive relationship with interested constituents (e.g. youth groups, civic organizations, media) assist in the planning and management of fundraising activities develop a positive relationship with Hobart alumni and parents Operational Team Responsibilities serve on Athletics Department operational teams (e.g., game day manager) assist with special events (e.g. Block H Banquet, Hall of Fame) assist with department initiatives
Other Information:
This is a full-time, 10-month, benefits-eligible position. This position description is not all-inclusive as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Evening and weekend work are required.
Salary range:

With three graduate programs, students can build on their undergraduate degree with a Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership, Master of Arts in Teaching, or a Master of Science in Management. Together, the experiences and mentorship at HWS prepare students to lead lives of consequence. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred. A minimum of four years' football playing and/or coaching experience at the college level is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong potential to teach, lead and counsel college student-athletes and have enthusiasm for the recruiting duties of the position. The candidate must be a person of integrity, have high ethical standards, have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and mission of HWS Athletics. Perform the requirements as a Campus Security Authority pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. 1092 (f) (Clery Act). Competence with technology resources and a current U.S. driver's license are vital to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position. The candidate must be willing to work nights and weekends.
