  • Temporary, Full-time Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp offers a traditional camp experience in the heart of Manhattan at two locations
  • the Upper East Side and Battery Park City.
We focus on building confidence, character, and community. Each program is offered to children ranging in age from 4 to 13 years old. Camp runs from Monday, June 29 to Friday, August 14 (No camp July 3). Camp staff are required to be on the premises by 8:00 am and the day is over by 4:45 pm. We are looking for energetic and responsible individuals to coach and instruct Baseball at camp. Coaches need to be able to teach campers of all ages and skill levels. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans for classes
  • Lead 45 min lessons focusing on skill-building through games.
  • Maintain good relationships with counselors and campers.
  • Guide groups and individual campers in participating successfully in the focus sport.
  • Manage time needed for set-up and clean-up before groups arrive and while groups are at the sport.
  • Ensure the safety of players.
  • Promote camp values system.

NOTE:
All summer camp employees are required to attend orientation in the evenings of June 17 & 18, June 24-26, and full-day orientations on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22. Qualified candidates will have a background in education, preferably classroom management and camp experience. A stong background in working with young children is a must. Leadership and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this position. Must have patience and stamina as the days are busy and long. CPR certified a plus.
