Job Description

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Boys Junior Varsity Soccer Head Coach - High School Season dates: August 20, 2026 through October 30, 2026 Saint Ann's School, located in Brooklyn Heights, seeks an experienced part-time coach for our Boys Junior Varsity soccer team. This is a seasonal position paid via stipend. This team will begin practices on August 24th, with 12 regular season games currently on their schedule. The current game schedule is subject to change, and additional playoff games will be added depending on team success. Practices for the team are expected to run between three and five days per week, typically from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. each morning until the school year begins on September 10th. After that, the practice schedule will shift, likely to 90-120 minute practices in the late afternoon/early evening with the potential for 1-2 practices at 7:00 a.m. each week. Qualified candidates must have previous coaching or competitive experience, be able to teach soccer concepts at beginner and intermediate levels, and must be available for all games and practices on the schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Upholding the Saint Ann's mission statement Communicating effectively with parents, players, athletic directors, athletic trainers, and school administration Assisting and/or leading athletes through warm-ups, skill development, and conditioning
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid CPR & First Aid certifications. Professional references, background check, and fingerprinting required upon contract offer. Demonstrate an understanding of the purpose and value of physical fitness and wellness. Demonstrate an accurate, current knowledge of various movement concepts and sport-specific skills and strategies as well as health-related fitness concepts. A strong passion for sharing your love of movement and physical activity with students of all ages is essential. Incorporate a variety of teaching methods to accommodate multiple learning styles. Use positive motivation to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment which fosters self-esteem. Create a joyful, stimulating learning experience in which to engage the students. Strong planning and organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
COMPENSATION
This is a part time exempt faculty position. Salary range of $5,000-$7,000 for the season commensurate with education and experience.
