Standard University business hours 8:30am•5:00pm (academic year) 8:00am•4:30pm (summer) Hours may vary based on operational needs.

Part Time Job Description:
The Associate Head Coach assist the head coach in all aspects of coaching the field hockey team including but not limited to leading with tactical & technical organization of practices, player development pathways, performance/physiological analysis for daily training environments and NCAA periodization. Video analysis capabilities for scouting opponents and assessing team development tactics, program operational aspects such as recruiting, management of student interns, budgetary responsibilities and liaison with athletic department staff. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree (or equivalent with experience), and at least 2 years of NCAA collegiate coaching preferred. Coach education certificate through USAFH and/or FIH. High performance coaching experience and successful recruiting history.
Skills and Knowledge:
Significant hockey coaching experience and international accreditation/coach education. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, with history of recruiting success. Familiarity with and ability to evaluate VX sport. Ability to multi-task and meet requirements under pressure and willingness to work extended hours. Able to work efficient with many different individuals and be responsive to a variety of requests. Must possess the ability to meet project deadlines and work under time constraint pressures. High competency in technology, video equipment. Good organizational, communication and computer skills. Strong commitment and ability to work well with student-athletes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of social media platforms.
Responsibilities:
Development of student-athletes. Includes but is not limited to individual technical development, small group training, tactical planning, scouting of opponents, educational sessions with student-athletes as well as helping to develop and coach team dynamics and individual leadership. Responsible for video analysis, as well as execution of scouting reports. Focus on international recruiting by identifying and communicating with potential student-athletes. Organize and input emails received, initiate contacts with coaches and athletes. Evaluating, recruitment and administrative tasks associated with domestic recruiting. Assisting with video/game management, video sharing, scheduling, managing team equipment and overseeing student managers/volunteers and practice players. Assist with the equipment management, team budget and purchasing decisions. Oversight of physiological assessment, tracking, load management and injury prevention with athletic trainer and head coach. Liaison to VX sport/data collection & analysis program. Other responsibilities as assigned.
