Overview Join our dynamic team as an Assistant Swim Coach and ignite a passion for swimming and water safety in our community! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced coaches, develop your coaching skills, and make a positive impact on swimmers of all ages. Whether you're passionate about sports, teaching, or water safety, this role is perfect for energetic individuals eager to foster teamwork, discipline, and confidence in others. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a fun, safe, and motivating environment for all participants. Duties Assist lead coaches in planning and executing swim training sessions tailored to various skill levels Support swimmers during practice by providing technical guidance, encouragement, and behavior management Help supervise pool area to ensure safety protocols are followed at all times Lead warm-up and cool-down activities to prepare swimmers physically and mentally for training Contribute to the development of sport-specific skills such as stroke technique, starts, turns, and endurance Maintain clear communication with clients (swimmers and parents), providing updates on progress and upcoming events Operate AED (Automated External Defibrillator) equipment in emergency situations and assist with first aid or CPR as needed Skills Prior experience as a lifeguard or working in aquatic environments is highly desirable Strong swimming skills with the ability to demonstrate techniques clearly Background in martial arts such as Karate, Judo or Climbing enhances coaching versatility Experience working with children and managing behavior effectively in group settings Knowledge of sports coaching principles, including team leadership and motivation strategies Familiarity with sports-specific training instruction across disciplines like soccer, basketball or gymnastics is a plus Excellent communication skills to engage with swimmers, parents, and team members confidently Certification in first aid and CPR; AED operation certification preferred but not required initially Previous experience teaching physical education or sports team experience demonstrates your coaching capability Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude in busy aquatic environments Join us to inspire confidence, promote healthy activity, and help swimmers reach their full potential!
