Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Girls Gymnastics Coach to join our team. You will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and guidance to gymnasts of all ages and skill levels. Your role will involve teaching proper techniques, developing routines, and fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Most classes take place between between 4 pm- 9 pm, Monday
- Thurs and Saturdays 9am
- 1:30p. Currently, until mid August, we offer additional Team practices between 9a
- 1pm in the week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate gymnastics training programs
- Registering meet schedules
- Oversee both the recreational (GCGC) and competitive (USAG) gymnastics programs
- Instruct gymnasts on proper techniques, form, and safety measures
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making necessary adjustments to improve quality and performance.
- Establish program goals, benchmarks, and performance indicators to track progress.
- Create and choreograph routines for competitions and performances
- Develop and implement monthly/weekly lessons plans for all programs
- Provide individualized feedback and guidance to help gymnasts improve their skills
- Monitor and assess the progress of each gymnast, adjusting training plans as needed
- Ensure a safe and clean training environment by enforcing safety protocols
- Collaborate with other coaches to plan and coordinate team practices and events
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress
- Handle issues, communicate with families that need assistance, or troubleshoot when needed to keep the program running efficiently and productively.
Skills:
- Strong background in gymnastics with expertise in various disciplines (e.g., artistic, rhythmic, trampoline)
- Must be able to spot up to 130 lbs on all events
- Experience working with children and managing their behavior effectively
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate gymnasts
- Ability to adapt coaching techniques to accommodate different learning styles
- Familiarity with sports coaching principles and strategies
