Our Athlete Performance program works with athletes of all ages, sports, and experience levels to help them become stronger, faster, more capable, and more confident. We focus on athletic development, movement quality, strength, speed, agility, injury prevention, and helping athletes build the skills and habits that support them throughout their athletic journey. We're looking for a coach who loves working with athletes, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to continue growing as a coach. The right person will bring energy to the room, build genuine relationships with athletes and families, and understand that great coaching is about more than simply leading a workout. What You'll Do Lead engaging group and small-group Athlete Performance sessions Coach athletes through dynamic warm-ups, mobility, movement preparation, strength, speed, agility, conditioning, and recovery Teach proper movement mechanics, technique, and exercise execution Modify exercises and training appropriately based on an athlete's age, ability, experience, and needs Monitor athlete progress and make adjustments to programming as needed Create a positive, challenging, and encouraging training environment Build relationships with athletes and help them develop confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, coaches, and the Pillar team Help athletes understand the purpose behind their training and how it connects to their sport Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional training environment Properly use and care for training equipment Provide a high level of customer service and create a welcoming experience for every athlete and family Learn athletes' names, understand their goals, and take an active interest in their development Collaborate with other Pillar coaches and program directors to create a connected experience across our sports and fitness programs Assist with camps, clinics, assessments, special events, and other Pillar programming as needed Arrive prepared and ready to coach before each scheduled session Continue developing your coaching knowledge and skills through education, training, and mentorship What We're Looking For Experience coaching athletes in a strength & conditioning, sports performance, fitness, or similar environment A genuine passion for helping athletes develop Strong understanding of fundamental strength and conditioning principles Ability to coach athletes across different ages, sports, and ability levels Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Positive, energetic, and approachable personality Dependable and punctual Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player Ability to adapt quickly and make appropriate decisions in a coaching environment Strong attention to safety and proper movement mechanics Willingness to learn and continue developing as a coach Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and occasional weekends Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related field Previous experience working with youth and/or competitive athletes Strength & Conditioning or performance-related certification CPR/AED and First Aid certification IYCA or similar youth coaching certification Certifications and education are valued, but we also understand that great coaches come from different backgrounds.
