Job Description

Wittenberg University is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Men's Basketball Coach. The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach with the daily operation of the men's basketball program in the NCAA Division III and the recruitment of student-athletes. This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt-level position. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: Coaching Assist the Head Coach with daily practice planning, game decisions, and player feedback and evaluation. Perform video analysis and scouting of opponents. Assist and mentor student athletes with academic progress, course selection, campus involvement and social/community outreach, and other issues related to the college experience. Recruiting Recruit quality student-athletes both on campus and at various recruiting events throughout the year. Manage recruiting databases. Schedule recruit visits. Attend recruiting events and evaluate prospective student-athletes. Administrative Assist the Head Coach with coordinating and managing game day operations and administrative tasks. Plan team travel and meals. Participate in department meetings. Provide service to the Institution as assigned by the Director of Athletics & Recreation or the Head Coach. Adhere to NCAA, conference, departmental, and university policies, procedures, and expectations. Perform other relevant duties as assigned such as special projects, programs, developmental activities, etc.
