Position Needs/Rationale:
A passionate and competent assistant coach to support the Head Volleyball Coach in all aspects of programmanagement, student-athlete development, recruiting, and daily operations. The assistant coach should assist in building a positiveteam environment and ensure students, facilities and training equipment is adequately prepared while being organized and dutifullysupporting the head coach.
Brief Summary:
The Assistant Volleyball coach assists the Head Volleyball Coach with the coordination and preparation of the university's volleyball team, participating in the Great American Conference as an NCAA DivisionII institution while fostering a positive, disciplined, and competitive team culture aligned with the mission of East Central University Volleyball.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Volleyball Coach will support the head coachin all aspects of managing and developing East Central University's competitive women's volleyball program. The role involvesrecruiting, coaching, and fostering a culture of excellence on and off the court.
- Coordinate recruiting efforts includingcommunication with prospective student athletes and families
- Organize campus visits and recruiting follow-up communication
- Evaluate prospective student-athletes through film review and tournament recruiting
- Maintain recruiting databases and recruitingcommunication
- Assists with monitoring the academic progress of student athletes to ensure NCAA compliance
- Scout opponents andassist with scouting reports and match preparation
- Assists with film breakdown with an understanding of Volley Metrics
- Assistswith planning practices and preparing for matches
- Assists with equipment inventory
- Assists with all compliance forms and recordkeeping
- Assist with budget oversight
- Assist with social media content creation and branding initiatives
- Attends communityservice events for both the volleyball program and the athletic department
- Assists with game management as needed
- Assist withfundraising and increase program visibility and enhance community support
- Strong communication skills: colleagues, students, recruits,sponsors, etc..
- Willing to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends; traveling with the team.
RequiredQualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills required. Ability to workevenings, weekends, and travel as required by the competitive schedule. Must meet all East Central University, Great American Conference,and NCAA Division II employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred. Collegiate playing and/or coachingexperience, including graduate assistant experience, preferred. Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules and regulations, recruiting operations,and student-athlete development. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively contribute toa competitive team culture. Experience with video analysis software, recruiting databases, and social media engagement preferred. Ability towork collaboratively within a team environment while supporting the mission and values of East Central University Athletics.
