Head Coach Cross Country Girls Mercy School Institute Edmond, OK Job Details Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Sports coaching First Aid Certification Working with students Leadership Full Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cross Country Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes both on and off the course. The ideal candidate is passionate about distance running, committed to fostering a positive team culture, and focused on helping athletes reach their full potential while emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success. Responsibilities Plan and conduct daily cross country practices and conditioning sessions. Develop individualized and team training programs for athletes of varying skill levels. Teach proper running mechanics, injury prevention, and race strategies. Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback. Maintain communication with athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic staff. Promote teamwork, leadership, accountability, and a positive athletic culture.. Qualifications Previous coaching or competitive running experience preferred. Knowledge of cross country training principles and conditioning techniques. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes from diverse backgrounds. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must pass all required background checks and meet district or organizational coaching requirements. Preferred Skills Experience using training plans and performance tracking tools. Ability to collaborate with athletic department staff and other coaches. Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all athletes.
