HPE, Athletics, Aquatics, and Recreation Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties Job Summary Assists the athletic director and head basketball coach with the planning, promotion, and administration of the basketball program. E ssential Duties Assists with conducting and supervising basketball practice. Assists with organizing and supervising conditioning and weights. Assists with video assessment and scouting opponents. Assists with study hall and academic counseling. Assists in all recruiting functions. Assists with the distribution and maintenance of all team equipment, uniforms and apparel. Assists with organizing and the execution of clinics and workouts. Maintains accurate stats and assists with game management. Additional Duties Performs all other duties as assigned. Minimum and Desired Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree. Successful basketball coaching and/or playing experience at the high school or college level. Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle during work hours, and the ability to be insured through the College insurance carrier. Must have three (3) years of driving history. Ability to travel for matches and tournaments. Ability to work evening and weekend hours. At the College's discretion, additional coaching and/or playing experience may substitute for education. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in health, physical education or related degree. Successful basketball coaching and/or playing experience at
NCAA, NAIA, NWAC
collegiate level. Recruiting experience at the collegiate level. Additional Qualifications and/or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to work professionally with student, staff, faculty, and others. Ability to handle the physical demands of team practice and competition. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing. Working Conditions and Important Information Working Conditions This is an onsite position. Work is typically performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Salary Placement Initial salary placement will be within the posted range or pay rate of the position, and is based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
