Job Description

Founded in 1888, The Baldwin School is an all-girls college preparatory, independent day school, PreK-Grade 12, dedicated to a tradition of excellence in education. The Baldwin School seeks dedicated and passionate individuals with genuine love and in-depth knowledge of their sport to join the coaching staff for the Fall 2026 season as: Upper School Field Hockey Head Coach Upper School Assistant Field Hockey Coach Middle School Field Hockey Head Coach Middle School Assistant Field Hockey Coach Successful candidates will inspire, mentor, and motivate student-athletes, fostering personal and athletic growth. The ability to lead collaboratively, think creatively, and build strong relationships is essential. We seek candidates who will engage student-athletes positively, with a growth mindset, and interact productively with parents and families. They will possess a love of working with student-athletes, a high level of energy and flexibility, a sense of humor, and will have an understanding of and appreciation for girls' education.
Responsibilities:
Attend all team practices, meetings, and games; Keep student-athletes at the center and positively and enthusiastically embrace the broader school community; Maintain and inspire high standards of excellence, encouraging student-athletes to achieve their full potential; Create an inclusive and supportive team by demonstrating collaboration, optimism, approachability, and adaptability; Establish routines and build relationships with student-athletes by using positive guidance, offering helpful feedback, and exhibiting patience, empathy, and respect; Incorporate Baldwin's core values of learning, respect, responsibility, compassion, and honesty; and Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree; Prior competitive experience in coaching; Strong understanding of safety protocols to ensure student-athlete well-being; and Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
