Job Description

Assistant Swim Team Coach - YMCA of Corry Otters The YMCA of Corry is seeking a part-time Assistant Swim Team Coach to join the coaching staff of the YMCA of Corry Otters Swim Team. The Assistant Coach will work alongside our coaching staff to provide instruction, encouragement, and supervision to youth swimmers during practices and swim meets. We are looking for someone who understands competitive swimming, enjoys working with youth, and can help swimmers improve their skills while maintaining a positive and supportive team environment. Responsibilities Assist with leading and supervising swim team practices Provide instruction in competitive strokes, starts, turns, and swimming technique Help swimmers improve skills, endurance, and confidence Provide age- and ability-appropriate feedback and encouragement Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and YMCA values Help maintain a safe and organized practice environment Assist coaching staff at swim meets Communicate professionally with swimmers, parents, coaches, and YMCA staff Qualifications Competitive swimming, swim instruction, or coaching experience preferred Working knowledge of the four competitive strokes Experience working with children and teens preferred Positive, dependable, patient, and able to work well as part of a coaching team Must be willing to complete required YMCA training and certifications Lifeguard certification is a plus, but is not required Schedule This is a part-time, seasonal position. Candidates should be available for afternoon/evening practices and swim meets, including some weekends during the competitive season. This position could be a great fit for a former competitive swimmer, college student, lifeguard, swim instructor, or someone with an aquatics background who is interested in coaching.
Pay:
$250.00 per month
