Job Description

Position Overview:
The Defensive Coordinator will be expected to assist in all facets of directing and managing a successful football program to include a strong knowledge of football coaching strategies and oversee all aspects of team defense. Actively recruit quality potential student athletes. Ensure compliance with all NCAA and Misericordia rules and regulations. Analyzes performance and instructs student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Provides secure, hospitable recreational environment as it relates to athletic facilities on evenings and weekends. Provides leadership in preparing athletic facilities for practice and contests.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience:
Prior playing or coaching experience at the college, university, or professional level Demonstrated athletic leadership experience Strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills Background in coaching multiple positions preferred Experience in strength & conditioning is preferred Licenses / Certifications Current and appropriate type certifications required by the NCAA and/or the University Valid driver's license Certification in strength & conditioning that allow for NCAA compliance regulations is preferred Work-Related Knowledge Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered.)
