Athletics & Coaching Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's premier pre-K through 12th grade private schools, dedicated to providing a career-focused cost-free education and housing to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 through the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS is fully endowed, ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive. The school has empowered over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and currently serves approximately 2,200 students with ongoing expansion efforts to provide amazing opportunities to even more young learners. MHS is currently seeking a Baseball Assistant Coach for one-year ancillary position at Middle School. This position will be responsible for assisting the head coach with the organization and administration of the 5th & 6th grades baseball program. In partnership with the head coach, the assistant coach will support student-athletes' skill development, athletic growth, and character development, helping them succeed both in their sport and in life. Season runs from March - June. Practices hours are flexible with 14 games (as scheduled). Stipend amount is based on experience and working the entire season.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of successful coaching experience, while also instilling high-quality character. Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport. Ability to teach beginning and advanced skills. Demonstrated ability to lead & inspire diverse youth. Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds, preferred. Ability to interact with student athletes at different skill levels in a positive and professional manner. Strong communication skills (verbal & written) are required.
