Athletics & Coaching Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world's premier pre-K through 12th grade private schools, dedicated to providing a career-focused cost-free education and housing to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Founded in 1909 through the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, MHS is fully endowed, ensuring students have the resources they need to thrive. The school has empowered over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and currently serves approximately 2,200 students with ongoing expansion efforts to provide amazing opportunities to even more young learners. MHS is currently seeking a Baseball Head Coach for a one-year ancillary position at Middle School - 7th & 8th grades. The head coach is responsible for leading the program year-round to develop students athletically and competitively, as well as instilling character so they excel in their sport and in life. MHS offers students a wide range of opportunities, including robust athletic programs supported by state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated coaches. The season begins in March and ends in June. Practices hours are flexible with 18 games (as scheduled). Off-season work is flexible and necessary for this position. Stipend amount is based on experience and working the entire season.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred. Driver's license, in good standing, required. Minimum of 3 years of successful coaching experience with demonstrated success in establishing a highly competitive program, while also instilling high-quality character. Must have current knowledge of techniques, rules and regulations, and training theory of the sport. Demonstrated ability to lead & inspire diverse youth. Experience working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds, preferred. Demonstrated exceptional organizational and planning skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and lead a team of coaches. Demonstrated ability to collaborate & influence in cross-functional settings. Ability to build a network to facilitate new and creative opportunities. Candidates must be eager to build the program & invest in student talent development year-round. Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
