Job Description

Anticipated Vacancies:
Three (3) motivated, student-centered individuals to serve as Assistant Football Coaches for the Upper Merion Area High School, School Year 2026-2027. The Assistant Coaches will work collaboratively with the Head Football Coach and Athletic Department to support all aspects of the football program while promoting academic achievement, sportsmanship, leadership, and character development among student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and conducting practices, workouts, and game preparation Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, and fundamentals Support player development in a positive and disciplined environment Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and related activities Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and school pride Assist with equipment management and program organization Maintain effective communication with players, parents, coaching staff, and administration Support year-round training and program development Ensure compliance with district, league, and PIAA/state athletic regulations Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
Qualifications:
Previous football coaching and/or playing experience preferred Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes Commitment to student development both academically and athletically CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) All required clearances and district employment requirements must be completed before employment
