Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic High School Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach to join our dynamic athletic program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to mentor student-athletes, foster teamwork, and develop their athletic skills while promoting sportsmanship and discipline. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for coaching, a strong understanding of baseball, and experience working with high school students to help elevate our varsity team to new heights. Duties Assist the head coach in planning and executing practices, drills, and game strategies to improve team performance Support student-athletes in developing technical baseball skills, including batting, pitching, fielding, and base running Promote a positive team environment by encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful behavior among players Monitor student-athletes' physical condition and ensure proper warm-up, cool-down, and injury prevention techniques are followed Help enforce team rules, discipline policies, and safety protocols during practices and games Communicate effectively with students, parents, school staff, and athletic department personnel regarding team activities and student progress Assist in organizing team logistics such as equipment management, game schedules, and transportation arrangements Experience Prior experience coaching or playing baseball at the high school or collegiate level is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to work with youth in a coaching or teaching capacity Knowledge of sports coaching principles and techniques specific to baseball Experience with behavior management strategies to foster a respectful and disciplined environment Background in teaching physical education or related sports disciplines such as basketball, cheerleading, climbing, martial arts (e.g., karate or judo), swimming or other martial arts is a plus Familiarity with child development principles and working effectively with students of diverse backgrounds Additional experience in lifeguard duties, health club environments, or gym settings that involve physical activity supervision is advantageous Experience with catching a plus Join us in inspiring young athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field!
