Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY D1
Newtown has a growing base of youth, high school, collegiate and adult athletes, along with school, team and organizational partnerships throughout the area. We're looking to add passionate, experienced coaches who can step onto the floor and deliver exceptional training experiences. Depending on your experience and availability, opportunities may include:
  • Youth and high school sports performance
  • Small-group athlete training
  • 1-on-1 performance training
  • School and team training
  • Speed, agility and athletic development
  • Strength and power development
  • Camps, clinics and specialty programs This can be an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a few additional hours and additional income each week doing something they genuinely enjoy.
Maybe you used to work in sports performance but eventually moved into another career. Maybe you currently train at a commercial gym and love coaching—but you're tired of spending more time trying to find clients than actually training them. Maybe you have a full-time career but still miss being on the floor, developing athletes and doing what you love a few hours each week. If you want more, we can talk about that too.
WHO WE ARE D1
Training is an athletic-based training facility focused on building a community of athletes who train and reach their goals together. Beyond the workout, D1 coaches build character. Ours is a community where athletes of every age learn discipline, hard work, and integrity alongside real fitness results. When you coach at D1, you're not just leading a workout — you're helping shape who our athletes become. Backed by professional athletes such as Tim Tebow, Peyton Manning, Jason Witten, Chris Paul, and Chipper Jones, our goal is to provide a training experience like that of a Division 1 athletic performance program. D1 has coached thousands of athletes and teams to reach their goals at every level, across more than 175 sites nationwide.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're not looking for someone who simply enjoys working out; we're looking for a coach:
  • You understand that Sports Performance is more than bodybuilding, powerlifting or putting athletes through difficult workouts.
  • You understand how strength, speed, acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, power, plyometrics, mobility, conditioning and movement quality work together to develop better athletes.
  • More importantly, you know how to coach it.
  • You can command a training floor.
  • You notice details.
  • You communicate clearly.
  • You can connect with a 12-year-old athlete, a varsity starter, a college athlete and a parent.
  • You bring energy regardless of whether you're coaching two athletes or twenty.
  • And when the session starts, you coach.
THIS COULD BE A GREAT FIT
IF...
  • You previously worked in Strength & Conditioning or Sports Performance and still miss coaching.
  • You currently have a full-time career but would love to coach athletes a few afternoons or evenings each week.
  • You're currently a personal trainer who wants additional coaching hours without having to constantly prospect for clients.
  • You're a former collegiate athlete who has transitioned into coaching and understands how athletes should be developed.
  • You're an experienced coach looking to supplement your current schedule and income.
SCHEDULE
This position is designed around consistent part-time availability, particularly during our high-demand after-school and evening hours. We're especially interested in coaches who can commit to consistent blocks of availability 2-4 days per week. Additional weekend, team-training, camp and specialty opportunities may also be available.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS
  • Fulfill daily/weekly coaching duties as assigned by the Head Coach
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all D1 Training offerings
  • Support growth and retention of the membership base by delivering high-level training
  • Serve as a D1 Training Ambassador by leading on- and off-site training
  • Contribute to brand awareness through community events, seasonal programs, camps, and clinics
  • Contribute to the creation of daily/weekly social media content
  • Demonstrate conflict-resolution skills and the ability to share constructive feedback with athletes and parents
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the training facility and equipment
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Client prospecting and communication
WHAT D1 PROVIDES D1
Training is a team of driven individuals with the goal of helping others reach their goals. Every coach on our team lives out D1's four core values:
  • Be a Team Player
  • Have Passion for Our Work
  • Find a Way, Make a Smart Play
  • Have D1 Character We provide you with Athletes, Facility, Programming infrastructure, Equipment, Brand & Opportunities.

COMPENSATION
Competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications and coaching responsibilities. Additional opportunities may be available through 1-on-1 training, small-group training, team training, camps, clinics and specialty programs. Supplemental Pay Types
  • Bonus & commission opportunities
