Job Description
Job Description We are seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and safety-focused Youth Swim Instructor to join our team! The ideal candidate enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities and is passionate about teaching water safety and developing swimming skills in a supportive environment. Our instructors provide high quality swim lessons while maintaining a safe, positive, and engaging atmosphere for every swimmer and their family. Responsibilities Teach small-group and/or individual swim lessons for infants, toddlers, and children. Develop age-appropriate lesson plans based on each swimmer's abilities and goals. Maintain a safe swimming environment by following all facility safety policies and procedures. Monitor swimmers continuously and respond appropriately in emergency situations. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and lesson goals. Foster confidence, water safety awareness, and proper swimming technique. Set up and organize instructional equipment before and after lessons. Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training as required. Qualifications Required CPR Certification AED Certification First Aid Certification American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification Lifeguard Certification Previous swim instruction experience Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed Preferred Experience teaching infants, toddlers, or children with varying skill levels Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move around the pool area for extended periods. Ability to enter, exit, and swim in the pool repeatedly throughout shifts. Ability to lift and assist children when appropriate.
