• Part-time, Contract Job Summary The Recreational Gymnastics Program Director oversees the daily operations, curriculum, safety, and staffing of our non-competitive gymnastics programs.

This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage a large team of instructors, maintain high safety standards, and design an engaging, progressive curriculum that retains students and grows enrollment. Core Responsibilities Program & Curriculum Development Design and implement weekly progressive lesson plans and circuits for all recreational levels (preschool through advanced recreational). Develop efficient gym floor rotation schedules to maximize equipment use and prevent class crowding. Oversee and manage the student skill evaluation system and step-up promotions. Plan, market, and execute profitable auxiliary events, including summer camps, themed open gyms, and birthday parties. Staff Leadership & Management Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard a high-energy team of recreational gymnastics instructors. Conduct regular training clinics focusing on safe spotting techniques, class management, and positive reinforcement. Create and manage weekly staff schedules, monitor labor budgets, and coordinate substitute coverage. Provide active floor mentorship, conducting regular performance evaluations and offering real-time coaching feedback. Safety & Risk Management Enforce absolute compliance with facility safety regulations and industry standard guidelines (e.g., USA Gymnastics). Conduct weekly documented inspections of all mats, pits, and apparatus to ensure equipment integrity. Maintain current records of staff certifications, including SafeSport, CPR, First Aid, and background checks. Oversee the proper documentation and filing of all incident and injury reports. Administration & Customer Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for recreational parent inquiries, feedback, and conflict resolution. Manage class enrollment, capacity limits, and waitlists using class management software (e.g., Jackrabbit, iClassPro). Assist the marketing team by providing content for social media and local community outreach events. Manage the department's annual budget for training props, chalk, and educational equipment.

Qualifications & Requirements Experience:

Minimum 3 years of gymnastics coaching experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, Recreation, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Certifications:

Current USA Gymnastics (USAG) Professional Membership, SafeSport certification, and CPR/First Aid certification required (or obtained within 30 days of hire).

Skills:

Proficient in gymnastics management software, excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to spot athletes of various sizes, stand for extended periods, and lift/move heavy gymnastics mats up to 50 lbs. Benefits & Compensation
