Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2026-04-27 Job Description Summary Assistant Coach--To assist Head Coach in day to day basketball related duties, practice organization, recruitment of student-athletes and their evaluation, oversee campus visitation procedures, maintenance and development of Division I program in the sport of basketball consistent with the policies of Miami University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Mid-American Conference. This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. Associate Head Coach--To assist the head coach in day to day men's basketball program. To conduct the men's basketball program in a safe and professional manner, and within all rules and regulations of Miami University, the NCAA, and other appropriate governing bodies (i.e. Mid-American Conference). This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. Job Description Assistant Coach Job duties Participates in the administration and organization of the Men's Basketball program, to include: Assist in planning, organizing and directing all activities involved with a Division I program Identify student-athletes who qualify academically for admission to Miami Maintain complete and accurate files of all recruits Coordinate all underclass recruiting mailings. Maintain contacts with high school coaches within the specified area of recruiting through letters and telephone Observe prospective student-athlete's participation in competition Visit high school students throughout the recruiting area on a regular basis Attend summer basketball camps to evaluate talent Scout upcoming opponents Assist in game preparation plans and their implementation Arrange scouting assignments with opponents Coordinate facilities and participate in daily basketball practice. Teach basic skill fundamentals, develop strategy and team play Assist in daily organizational ideas for the team Advise and counsel current student-athletes with regard to academics. Organize and assign necessary tutoring help through the Office of Learning Assistance Co-direct summer basketball camp and hire camp coaches Assist in the supervision of summer camp Correspond with high school coaches in order to maintain camp application numbers Assist with equipment ordering Work as a liaison with strength coach and team trainer. Assist with scheduling workouts and necessary team travel arrangements Coordinate the hiring and organization of the managerial staff Assist the head coach in conducting the basketball program in accordance with all NCAA rules, including attendance at compliance meetings, appropriate record keeping for recruiting and playing/practice seasons, monitoring eligibility of student-athletes in the program, successfully completing the annual NCAA certification test, and assisting in the education of student-athletes about NCAA rules Maintaining knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, MAC and University rules and regulations Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Administration Other duties assigned by Head Coach Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Understanding of the rules and policies of the NCAA Preferred Qualifications Experience in recruiting, coaching and teaching basketball skills Experience at the Division I level Network of contact in primary recruiting areas Master's Degree Associate Head Coach Job duties Participates in the administration and organization of the Men's Basketball program, to include: Assist in planning, organizing and directing all activities involved with a Division I program Identify athletes who qualify academically for admission to Miami Maintain complete and accurate files of all recruits Evaluate prospective athletes for the purpose of recruitment Maintain contacts with high school coaches within the specified area of recruiting through letters and telephone Observe prospective student athlete's participation in competition Visit high school students throughout the recruiting area on a regular basis Attend summer basketball camps to evaluate talent Scout upcoming opponents Assist in game preparation plans and their implementation Participate in daily basketball practice. Events and Activity Planning Special Events - Kid's basketball clinics & golf outing if applicable Schedule basketball activities (practice times, individual workout times & facility reservations) Promotion of Program Assist marketing staff with outreach to campus, community and region Alumni Relations Community Relations Assist with all community service events Coordinate fan support and production of group's special events Responsible for organizing coaches and players ticket requests Other duties assigned byHead Coach Required Qualifications:
