Our caring team positively impacts children's lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, curriculum, and communication. Position Summary The Director of Coaching will be the standard-bearer of our organization. This senior leader will guide, support, and hold our coaching team accountable to the highest levels of performance and professionalism. The ideal candidate is a dynamic people leader, culture builder, and mentor who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Coach Development Lead the hiring and onboarding of new coaches, identifying top talent and setting them up for success from day one Mentor, train, and hold coaches accountable to Soccer Shots' standards of excellence Foster a values-driven culture where coaches feel inspired, supported, and challenged to grow Conduct field observations and provide real-time feedback to elevate coach performance Lead impactful team meetings and retreats that strengthen culture and reinforce our mission Operations & Accountability Oversee coach schedules and timesheets to ensure operational efficiency across all programs Monitor program quality firsthand by staying actively present in the field and engaging with families Anticipate challenges and proactively bring solutions to support smooth day-to-day program delivery Maintain accountability for program standards and team performance at all times Retention & Leadership Champion coach retention by ensuring every team member feels valued, supported, and motivated to grow within the organization Serve as a role model for professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity on and off the field Build a coaching team that is the best it can be - one that every child and family can feel the moment they step onto the field Leadership Team Participation Actively participate in Level 10 and quarterly planning meetings, bringing valuable insights and solutions to support organizational growth Contribute to strategic decisions that shape the future of Soccer Shots Long Beach & Southeast LA Who You Are A natural leader who leads by example and inspires others to reach their full potential Passionate about youth development and committed to Soccer Shots' mission Organized, systems-minded, and comfortable making decisions and having hard conversations Energetic and adaptable on and off the field Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between program sites across our Long Beach and Southeast LA territories 3+ years of coaching, sports program leadership, or team management experience preferred What We Offer Meaningful work that makes a lasting impact on children and families Competitive salary $26-$29/hr plus performance bonus opportunities Mileage reimbursement at the federal rate Paid holidays | Paid time off Paid training, professional development, and career growth opportunities Why Soccer Shots?
